Friends and Fish!

May 1st – July 17th
May was spent between Bandon and the Valley and I was happy to get to spend time with some of my friends in both places. It’s never going to be enough time while we are on the road. I didn’t have the chance to see everyone I’d hoped to, but we will be back soon enough!

We made lots of new Oregon memories!

We camped at Waterloo Park just down the road from our Sodaville House and BBQ’d with Gwen and her brother Mike.

Jean and I ran away to Florence and stayed for 3 lovely days at Three Rivers.

I caught up with all my girls on the coast and had coffee, breakfast, dinners, cocktails and some much needed catch up time.

We camped at 10 Mile Lake with Wanda and Ben and family and ate (and laughed) like there was no tomorrow! Bonus! JP learned new ways to catch Bass.

We camped at Carl Washburn Park near Florence with Robert and Sue and collected agates under sunny skies. We covered some beach!

I had a long slumber party with Gwen in her warm and cozy home in Lebanon and got to spend time with Valley girlfriends that I hadn’t see in way too long!

We camped at Crescent Lake with Robert and Sue and caught kokanee (land lock salmon) in both Crescent and Odell Lake. A little chilly but lots of fishies!

We camped for 3 nights at Seven Feathers Casino for our 45th Anniversary. We had so much fun we accidently stayed a day longer than we were booked!

We camped at Lake Selmac (which we now refer to as the campground from hell!) and caught a few fish but mostly reminded ourselves how lucky we had been to have only one REALLY awful RV stay in our travels.

We camped at Umpqua Riverfront Park with Jean and Tim and Dan and Julie. Gwen joined us for a few days too! Jean and I caught a bunch of bass and some nice ones to boot! The best part was having two of my closest friends together. So loved that!

We topped it all off with a trip to Sunset Falls near Yacolt Washington to camp with

Jerry’s sister and her new hubby and had some quality time at the campfire.

Jerry was able scratch his fishing itch with Mike catching Black Bass, Ling Cod, and Crab while in Bandon. He caught Kokanee at Crescent Lake and Odell, and Bass on the Umpqua and Ten Mile. He and Robert caught shad on the Umpqua and the Coquille River. That should certainly hold him until September.

Next stop – trout – Idaho and Montana here we come!
We really want to thank everyone who has helped make this adventure easy. You guys have kept our car, our trailer and our boat safe while we were on the road. We have stayed at your house in our Lucky when we were in-between destinations and been well fed and cared for! We so appreciate it!

Note:
This is my travel journal as well as our blog so help me out If I’ve missed something!
